Hi to everybody. Sorry for contacting you in english but my french is not good enough!
We at Cabrera National Park (Balearic Islands, Spain) are going to conmemorate the imprisonment of the napoleonic troops at Cabrera island, which took place from 1809-1814. We are particularly interested in the excelent information of this page concerning the Saint helene grognards. We have found in the web page more than 60 soldiers and officials which recieved the medals in 1857 and were formerly imprisoned at the island of Cabrera, and we are invesiting some time and efforts to obtain more information on them through the departamental archives and councils.
This is in fact a call of interest: if somebody has some information on this specific subject -memories, family relatives images, pictures, drawings, objects, etc of Saint Helene medaliers who were imprisonned at Cabrera- and wish to collaborate with us and the exhibition, we would be extremely grateful. The exhibit will take place at Palma, opening in October the 28th, 2009. I stay tuned. Yours faithfully,
José Amengual
